Tutorial: What Is Question and Answer Piping and how do I Use Them Within my Survey?

Piping automatically inserts responses to previous survey questions into the question or answer choices of a question on a subsequent page. Piping can help increase your survey response rate by keeping the respondent engaged and eliminating the need for extraneous answer choices.  It makes it seem like the survey is specifically geared towards the individual responding!

There are two types of piping that you can use in your survey, Question Piping & Answer Piping

Question Piping
Question piping is the ability to insert a response to a previous question in a survey into the question text of a question on a following page.

Answer Piping
Answer Piping is the ability to use the responses selected by a user as the answer choices in a question on a following page.

And, always remember, the piped question must be on a separate page.  Good luck!
